Welcome to St Andrew’s

St Andrew’s Healthcare offers a wide range of nursing opportunities across mental health, learning disability and neuropsychiatry. We’re unlike anywhere else you can work in these fields.

St Andrews

Proud to be different

We’re the largest independent provider of NHS services in the country. We’re also a pioneering charity with a 178 year history in the field of mental health.

Over the years the charity has evolved and developed into a highly respected provider of locked, low and medium secure units for adolescents and adults with complex needs.

At the forefront of our field

Today, we operate over 66 wards and units across sites in Birmingham, Essex, Mansfield and our main campus in Northampton. In these outstanding facilities, we bring together expert multi-disciplinary teams and deliver treatment and care through six innovative patient pathways.

Patient focused

Through individualised rehabilitation and recovery, our focus is transforming the lives of patients through a seamless transition down levels of security and back into the community. As a charity, we can always put patients first, while re-investing surpluses for their benefit.

Collaborative partners

Our expertise is strengthened by our status as the country’s first independent teaching hospital. We also have strong academic links and a strong research profile thanks to partnerships with organisations like the King’s College London and the Institute of Psychiatry.

True to ourselves

These factors combine to make us the unique organisation we are – with a positive, inclusive, welcoming culture that’s very much our own. We’re guided by shared values, defined by the people who work here and the patients we support. These values shape our behaviours and feed into everything we do.

Compassion: be supportive: understanding and care for patients, their families and all in the St Andrew’s Community.

Accountability: be proactive, take ownership and responsibility, do what you say you will.

Respect: act with integrity, be real, be open, be honest

Excellence: innovate, learn and deliver, whatever you do – do it well.
