We regularly compare our nursing salaries with similar organisations and offer salaries that are competitive within the sector. We review salaries annually.

Special duty pay/enhancements

In general, our nurses are scheduled to work five days out of seven, which includes weekend and evening working as part of the normal working pattern however as art of flexible working part time hours and varied working patterns can be discussed at interview.  You’ll receive enhanced rates of pay for working these patterns, which can add significantly to your earnings.

Extra hours, extra earnings

If you’d like to work additional hours, you can increase your earnings by shifts hours through Workchoice, our in-house nursing bureau. Ask our nurse recruitment team for more details.

London fringe allowance

If you join us at St Andrew’s Essex, you’ll receive an allowance currently set at £1,250.

 

Making your salary go further

Pension scheme

A defined contribution scheme that both you and St Andrew’s will contribute to. You will contribute 5%, with St Andrew’s contributing 3%.

Death in service

The security of a 10k lump sum payment to your next of kin in the event of your death whilst working for St Andrew’s Healthcare.

Cycle2work

Cycle2work is the government approved ‘salary sacrifice’ initiative that allows you to hire a bike and accessories from St Andrew’s for cycling to work. Our generous holiday entitlement starts at 35 days and increases to 41 after 10 years’ service (including statutory days).

Sick pay
